MOHAI: Seattle's Museum of History and Industry




MOHAI, a private heritage organization, preserves the history of the Pacific Northwest as far back as 1850. Its site provides information on their current exhibits, educational programs, and special events. Online visitors can search from over a million photos in MOHAI's historical photo collection, search its database of oral history interviews, and experience "the sights and sounds from Seattle's past" with MOHAI's audio/video archive.

The Seattle Daily Times: 100 Years in the Pacific Northwest




In 1996, as part of The Seattle Times' 100th birthday celebration, weekly stories on Northwest history were prepared by historians Sharon Boswell and Lorraine McConaghy with the assistance of the newspaper staff. This site features the collection of stories and period photographs. Sets of discussion questions accompany each article. Includes a link to more information about The Seattle Times (originally called the Seattle Daily Times when it was founded in 1896).
