"This database lets you access over 75 years of patent descriptions and images. You can search, retrieve and study more than 1,900,000 patent documents." Image databases go back to 1920, bibliographic descriptions back to 1869, and text of the abstracts and claims back to 1978. From the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO).

This site from the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) advocates for legalizing music file-sharing (also known as P2P, for "peer to peer"). Includes "information on compensating artists while making P2P legal." The "Subpoena Defense" section includes a searchable database of subpoenas filed by the Recording Industry Association of America to compel Internet Service Providers to identify users who are file-sharing.
