 This fact sheet summarizes a number of suggested topics for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered individuals to discuss with their health care practitioners. These include general topics (such as fitness and mental health) and specific concerns such as breast health, hormone therapy, contraception and pregnancy (including pregnancy and transgendered men), and prevention of hepatitis and sexually-transmitted diseases. This document answers questions about health concerns faced by transgender college students. Some of the topics discussed include depression and anxiety, transitioning to the opposite gender, female-to-male (FTM) health topics (such as that "[i]t is still possible to become pregnant while on testosterone, although infertility occurs after continued use"), and male-to-female (MTF) concerns (such as silicone and oil injections).
