MIT Cascon System for Analyzing International Conflict view detail comment email this

Cascon is a "conflict analysis and decision-support system" that includes information on 85 post-World War II conflict cases, and was most recently updated in 2000. "Cascon is based on the Bloomfield-Leiss conflict model, which represents conflict as a dynamic process" in which conflicts pass through distinctive stages. This exhibit "examines issues of war, peace, dissent and dialogue during critical periods in the 20th century when free speech and civil liberties were threatened." It features works by artists and almost 75 digitized items (from books, pamphlets, newspapers, handbills, and other materials) accompanied by essays on conscientious objectors and Japanese-American internment during World War II, McCarthyism during the Cold War, and Vietnam War protests.
