Updated approximately every two weeks. In addition, you can get images from 1974 to present. Now includes databases of patents from the European Patent Office EPA and EPB patents and World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) PCT text and images. Returns bibliographic data, abstract, and full text of the patent with drawings or photos. Patents from 1790-1976 are also availble, but are searchable only by patent number and current US classifications. Images require ability to view G4 TIFF format. The site provides information on a free version of such a viewer on their Document Formats and Viewers page (on the Web4Lib mailing list, librarians have recommended the AlternaTIFF viewer for Windows machines) .
