Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer view detail comment email this

"Was Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer created for Montgomery Ward department stores?" This site acknowledges the origin of Robert L. May's underdog character of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, the most famous of all of Santa Claus' reindeer and the origin of the Christmas story, as a promotional gimmick by the chain department store and later immortalized by the song and a TV special. From the Urban Legends Reference Pages.
