Godey's included fashion, literature, and tips on homemaking and etiquette. The beautifully rendered plates include flowers, birds, costumes, landscapes, a portrait of Louis A. The magazine featured "articles on fashion, interior decoration, pop psychology, and new careers; and also advice columns on love, sex, and marriage, as well as lavish illustrations of local and Hollywood celebrities."
