Infection affects poor communities in remote parts of Africa that do not have safe water to drink." Parasitologists from the Division of Parasitic Diseases of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention offer information about the identification and diagnosis of parasites of public health concern. The site reviews specific parasites and parasitic diseases and discusses laboratory procedures for diagnosis and appropriate treatments. There are also images of parasites and a place for physicians to request assistance. Users may search the site by parasite and by affected body part. Boolean searching is available.
