Though the information is brief and there are no links provided to the official sites for each park, there are photographs and some maps making it a good starting place for people planning a trip through the Southwest. Information is also provided on state parks and related areas of interest.

Located in Virginia and Maryland, this seashore is home to more than 300 wild horses, as well as many birds and other wildlife. This site has information about wildlife in the area, including a photo gallery and a list of migratory birds. Also has details about the Chincoteague Wild Pony Swim (held annually in late July), which was made famous by Marguerite Henry's 1947 book, "Misty of Chincoteague."

This park of eighty caves in the Guadalupe Mountains of southeastern New Mexico, features the "Big Room," a cave with a ceiling up to 250 feet high, that is one of the largest cave chambers in the world. Twelve public domain photographs illustrate some of the park's features. The site includes general information about the park, programs, tours, and links to cave-related sites. Includes a teacher's guide with links to history activities, geology, bats, plants, and animals located in the caverns, a student glossary, and a list of references.

This national park in Alaska features Mount McKinley, and "countless other spectacular mountains and many large glaciers.
