 Choose your destination from one of seven different regions in California's San Gabriel range and then peruse the list of hikes, which are described in detail with total mileage, elevation gain, and best season for that particular trail. Directions to the trailhead, a bit of the history of the trail, and trail logs are included for most of the hikes. "To mark the anniversary of the first ascent of Mount Everest on May 29, 1953," the Royal Geographical Society has created an exhibition of photographs taken on the nine Mount Everest expeditions between 1921 and 1953.
