The site contains a history of railroading in the United States, images of the museum holdings (diesel locomotives), a library and archive, and links to other resources. Searchable. This is the oldest railroad museum in the United States and is affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution. This portion of the Smithsonian Institution located in New York and Washington, D.C., "is the first national museum dedicated to the preservation, study, and exhibition of the life, languages, literature, history, and arts of Native Americans."
