 This portion of the Smithsonian Institution located in New York and Washington, D.C., "is the first national museum dedicated to the preservation, study, and exhibition of the life, languages, literature, history, and arts of Native Americans." The site features numerous online exhibitions on subjects such as ancient Mexican art, basketry, and works of contemporary artists.
