This project's purpose "is to identify the Jewish values found in Jewish children's books published since 1995." A searchable database of books for children (preschool through high school) includes complete citations, with an option to search for award winning titles. Also includes announcements of children's book awards and lists of notable books for younger and older readers.

Detailed information about this "central repository for the cultural and historical legacy of the Jewish people," a project of five respected research facilities. The Web site has online catalogs of their libraries and archives, and descriptions (including some images) of the center's exhibits and family history resources. The Center, in New York City, has materials on Ashkenazic or Sephardic resources, Yiddish language, Jewish art, and genealogy.

From Haven to Home: 350 Years of Jewish Life in America view detail comment email this

To commemorate the 350th anniversary (2004) of Jewish settlement in the United States, the Library of Congress created this exhibition featuring more than 200 items from its Judaica collection. The items portray the Jewish experience from immigration and acculturation to discrimination, acceptance, and assimilation. Items displayed include George Washington's letter to the Newport Hebrew Congregation, General Grant's edict banning Jews from Kentucky, and Abraham Lincoln's letter rescinding that ban.

Hebraic Collections: An Illustrated Guide view detail comment email this

Introduction to the Hebraic holdings of the Library of Congress. Includes images and information about items such as "more than a half-dozen books that could be considered Judaica" from Thomas Jefferson, modern works, and the "Library's most important Hebrew illuminated manuscript [which] is known as the 'Washington Haggadah.' ... A haggadah ... is a liturgical work that is recited in the home at the festive evening meal of Passover."

This center, located at the Cincinnati campus of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, is "committed to preserving a documentary heritage of the religious, organizational, economic, cultural, personal, social and family life of American Jewry." The site features interactive exhibits on Judaism, the center's journal, genealogy resources, a guide to creating a synagogue archive, a description of holdings, and related research materials. Located at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, this library provides access to its catalog as well as the Israel Union Catalog on its site. It also offers links to other libraries, archives, and electronic resources. The Ketubbot Digitalization Project is its crown jewel. This collection of 1200 ketubbot (Jewish marriage contracts) from 1024 to the present is viewable in varying resolutions and searchable by country, city, year, and keyword. These magnificent illuminated manuscripts and printed documents will interest students of art, history, genealogy, law, and religion. An introduction explains their legal and religious significance.

Founded in Vilna, Lithuania, the YIVO Institute is one of the foremost centers of Jewish learning. The website has several online galleries with artifacts and photographs of the Jewish Labor Bund, actress Ida Kaminska, treasures from the archives, posters from prewar Poland, and artifacts from the Vilna Ghetto.
