This site tells the story of the song, which was written by a Jewish teacher from the Bronx who later adopted the orphaned sons of executed spies Julius and Ethel Rosenberg. Features a history of American protest music. The dramas, political commentary, advice shows, talent shows, and music provided entertainment and comfort.
