Also includes reports from research projects, description of archive collections, and related material.

Information on a variety of Japanese kites, kite festivals in Japan, list of kite links, chronological table of kite history, and plans for Japanese traditional kites. The Bibliography Relating to the History of Kites has substantive excerpts from several books. Printing of some of the plans will require setting the print options to landscape orientation. The quality of the English translation is somewhat uneven, but understandable.

National Kite Month in April is "a month-long celebration of those things at the end of the strings." The site features a calendar of events, materials for organizing an event, an overview and timeline of kite history, materials for teachers (including four simple kite plans and images of kites from around the world), and games and activities for children. From a nonprofit venture co-founded by the American Kitefliers Association and the Kite Trade Association International.

Brief overview of this May event in which "[m]ore than 100 kites are flown in the sky over the Nakatajima Dunes, one of the three largest sand dunes in Japan" and in which "the kite-fliers try to cut their opponents' strings by friction."
