Websites presented in alphabetical order Monotremata: The Platypus, Tachyglossus, and Zaglossus "The monotreme home page has been set up to provide information on current research on the biology of echidnas and platypuses and to encourage exchange of information between research workers." Information on the platypus (Ornithorhynchus anatinus) and its echidna cousins the Tachyglossus aculeatus and Zaglossus bruijnii. They are the world's three living egg-laying mammals.
