This August 2008 article explains the computer hacking technique known as wardriving. "Wardriving involves a computer user driving around searching for insecure wireless networks. All the hacker needs to steal credit card and other information from a shop is a standard laptop that picks up the signal from the wireless network." Wardriving was identified by the U.S. Department of Justice in August 2008 identity theft charges. From the British newspaper The Times.
