Description:
This essay describes Cleveland's involvement in the development and application of modern zoning laws. "Several significant zoning cases have emerged from the Cleveland area, including the landmark case [Village of Euclid v. Ambler Realty Co., 1926] that established its constitutionality." Also discusses zoning developments after World War II such as zoning laws used to create racial segregation and the use of referendums for zoning issues.
