The items portray the Jewish experience from immigration and acculturation to discrimination, acceptance, and assimilation. Items displayed include George Washington's letter to the Newport Hebrew Congregation, General Grant's edict banning Jews from Kentucky, and Abraham Lincoln's letter rescinding that ban.
