Author: Bensen, Amanda A Brief History of Chocolate This 2008 article traces the history of chocolate back to "the Mayans and Aztecs [who] believed the cacao bean had magical, or even divine, properties." Also describes how chocolate became a fashionable drink throughout Europe in the 17th century, and the creation of the first modern chocolate bar in 1847. Also includes a video and information about the molinillo, a carved, wooden stick from Mexico used to stir hot chocolate.
