Pollution in People: A Study of Toxic Chemicals in Washingtonians
Results from a study of toxic chemicals found in the hair, blood, and urine of 10 Washington state residents. Chemicals tested for were: plasticizing chemicals (phthalates), flame retardants, heavy metals (lead, arsenic, and mercury), perfluorinated chemicals, and pesticides (including DDT). Also includes profiles of participants, details about the chemicals, and suggestions for safer alternatives. A project of the Toxic-Free Legacy Coalition, a coalition of more than 50 Washington organizations.
