The Pew Campaign for Fuel Efficiency
Website for a "public education campaign advocating greater fuel efficiency standards for the U.S. car and light truck fleets." In 2007, the campaign helped pass "the first increase in fuel efficiency standards for cars and light trucks in more than 30 years." Reasons to act include security, savings, safety, and less carbon dioxide. The "Background" section provides a history of fuel economy back to the 1970s.
