World Habitat Day 2007
"The United Nations has designated the first Monday in October every year as World Habitat Day to reflect on the state of human settlements and the basic right to adequate shelter for all," and on the human habitat. This site describes events around the world, and material about previous celebrations and winners of the Scroll of Honor ("the most prestigious human settlements award") back to 2001.
