Census of Marine Life
A project of "a growing global network of researchers in more than 70 nations engaged in a ten-year initiative to assess and explain the diversity, distribution, and abundance of life in the ocean and explain how it changes over time." The project runs through 2010. The site posts annual reports from this census, monthly updates, and photographs and video files. The organization is based at the Consortium of Oceanographic Research and Education in Washington, D.C.
