The Office of Family Assistance (OFA)
Created by the United States Welfare Reform Law of 1996, this agency oversees Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), the program that replaced Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) and Job Opportunities and Basic Skills Training (JOBS).
