America's Most Literate Cities (AMLC)
This study ranks the largest ten U.S. cities with populations of 250,000 and above. The six key indicators of literacy are "newspaper circulation, number of bookstores, library resources, periodical publishing resources, educational attainment, and Internet resources." The study was published by Dr. John W. Miller, president of Central Connecticut State University (CCSU), in collaboration with the Center for Public Policy and Social Research at CCSU.
