Journey of an Apple
This exhibit from the Yakima Valley Museum in Washington state describes Yakima's apple industry from its beginnings in the 1880s to the present. Each stage of the journey, from the preparation of the soil, irrigation, and planting to the packing plant, store, and your kitchen, is thoroughly explained and illustrated with diagrams and vintage photographs. The changing status of orchard workers is also discussed. Apple facts and statistics are included.
